Visit by Prof. Waressara Weerawat as part of RailDresden 2025
by iRFP Administrator
As part of the international RailDresden 2025 trade fair, we welcomed Prof. Waressara Weerawat and her delegation from Bangkok to Dresden. They took part in the specialist presentations and discussions and also took the opportunity to engage in further technical discussions with experts from TU Dresden.
Mr Bräuer arranged a comprehensive technical excursion for Prof. Weerawat and her entourage during their stay, focusing on local rail transport in Dresden. The highlight was a visit to the Railway Operations Laboratory (IEL) at TU Dresden. There, current developments in vehicle control and aspects of vehicle location in railway operating laboratories were discussed, taking into account ETCS levels and driving at absolute braking distances.
Another topic of the technical discussions was the control of Dresden's local rail transport, which, in its complexity and integration, provided deep insights into modern urban mobility systems.
A special highlight on the sidelines was a tour of the machine house of the Dresden suspension railway – a historic technical monument and symbol of Saxon engineering.
We are grateful to Prof. Weerawat and her delegation for the lively professional exchange and thank them for their cooperation!
